Gear up in your glamour gowns, spectacular hair-do’s, and high heels because it’s that time of year again, ladies! Prom is right around the corner and we have Jenny Altman, former Fashion Market Editor from “O, The Oprah Magazine” to give you advice on what to wear under your prom dress. Check out what Jenny has to say about the ultimate must-have items to wear under your dress so you can look fab out there on the dance floor!
This is not a muffin-top worthy event. You want to make sure you pick smoothing pieces that will help you look slim and smooth under your prom dress. You don’t want lines so choose seamless pieces and be sure to buy them in the right size. A tip I always give women is to go up a size in shapewear so that it can hold you in. When it comes to bras make sure you wear the right bra size, otherwise you’ll be spilling or bulging out of the cups-that’s not hot! Prom time is actually a great opportunity for a young woman to try on a handful of bras to determine her right size. When it comes to finding your bra size we don’t always recommend measuring. Women come in all different shapes and sizes, so how can one system work for us all? It can’t! It merely is a guide to get you started. Once you find your fit you will look and feel so much better in your bras and more confident. Not to mention your prom gown will look and fit a lot better, too! Take a look at our bra fit check list to help you find your right size:

A few suggestions: If you’re going strapless, make sure the band size is fitted enough so that you don’t have to hike your bra up all night. Make sure the cup size is not too small because you don’t want to be billowing over. Choosing your right bra size for a formal dress is very important since the right bra helps you fit your dress best. Go with black if the dress is black or navy, and choose nude for everything else. Strapless bras are a great investment since you can convert the straps. A great seller:

Great for a backless dress: http://tinyurl.com/SassyBax-Prom-Dress Here are a few other great options I suggest you pair with your prom dress:
A great seamless panty is the perfect starting point. Pick what is comfortable for you, such as a thong or boyshort. As long as they are seamless and not too tight, either of the styles will be good VPL (visible panty lines) crushers! After all, who wants panty lines under their prom gown-yikes! http://tinyurl.com/Commando-Thong-Prom-Dress

Shapewear: Better to buy a size bigger so the shapewear can hold you in. You don’t want to be busting out of your shapewear. Pick a nice all-in-one that shapes all the way from under the bust to the thigh so you are completely smooth under the dress.

OK, so you’re all geared up with what to wear under your prom dress items. Last tip:
Pack socks in case your feet are in pain from dancing. By the end of the night, nobody will care about the shoes! Have a great prom and enjoy the evening!
These are great for boots that are knee length, because the sock truly accommodates the height of the boot. The quality is superb and the fabric really keeps my feet warm and odor free (yes, thanks to its moisture-wicking and breathable fabric). It’s so comfy with a cushioned toe and heel, and the arch support provides a really nice contoured fit. A dark opaque tight such as black is always a must-have color in your hosiery/sock collection. I always say it’s good to purchase a basic and a fashion color. So my preferred fashion color in this style is Charcoal that I found on
